Yoga
Sunday September 6th is the last class of the 2020 summer season and please know that it is on a different day and time. Thank you everyone who came out this year and enjoyed our yoga classes in the Park. And a big thanks to Jen our instructor who helped our community find a little comfort and peace during these uneasy times. See you next year, stay limber until then! – Scott Gregory, Board Director

73rd Annual Pioneer Park Rummage Sale:

It is with regret that the Pioneer Park Association announces the cancellation of this year’s Rummage Sale. The first Rummage Sale was held in 1948, convened by Miss Catherine Rankin.

Foremost in our minds is the safety of the many countless volunteers who make the Rummage Sale possible and the hundreds of people who come to the sale to purchase our wonderful treasures.

Given Pioneer Park typically relies on the Rummage Sale as its primary income source the Board is exploring all fundraising options.
We know the Rummage Sale is a great community tradition and no-one is more disappointed about the cancellation than the PPA.

Annual 5KM Fun Run, Walk and Roll
Sadly, but responsibly, we will not be executing this year’s Annual event. In the 25+ years this event has existed, we’ve only cancelled one other time in 2000 due to the Sewer implementation.

Stay limber and we’ll hopefully see you next year (2021).

With yoga we have been able to map out a plan, approach and a distancing plan  that allows participants to hear the instructor while maintaining required social distancing.

We have limited participants, requesting contact information from participants in case the need arises (not mandatory) and are providing visual flags to denote safe distancing from one another.   Our goal is to try and support yoga while upholding government regulations, including the Ministry of Health. We all look forward to restrictions easing, and a healthier, more active 2021 in our park.
